The Killers first greatest hits album Direct Hits is out today, we’ve had a listen and as a compilation it’s about as much indie/new wave goodness as can possibly be comprehended.
However listening to the album, one thing did strike us… blimey ‘Shot at the Night' sounds like 'Higher Love' by Steve Winwood (we know many others have noticed the same). It’s not often that one of The Strokes gives a frank and open interview. Following the release of fifth album ‘Comedown Machine’ members of the band have been notoriously closed off and there has been no tour to accompany the album (although there are hints that The Strokes may tour in the next year).
With the release of his solo EP ‘AHJ’ guitarist Albert Hammond Jr has bucked this trend.
